Teen activist Malala Yousafzai might have missed the Nobel Peace Prize 2013 by a whisker, but her recent feat is a fitting recognition of her relentless effort to raise awareness for female empowerment.
The young activist was named as the 'most influential Asian' at this year's GG2 Leadership and Diversity Awards held in UK last evening.
The 16-year-old education and peace campaigner from Pakistan, who was shot in the head by the Taliban for her open advocacy of education for girls last October, beat Labor MP Keith Vaz to cinch the top spot in the GG2 Power List.
The GG2 Hammer Award is conferred to individuals who have broken through the glass ceiling. Yesterday, the awarded was given to Miss Yousafzai and her two friends Kainat Riaz and Shazia Ramzan for showing utmost courage bravery in revolting against Taliban rule back home.
