Here is world's first of its kind of mass wedding that bans bride! Yes, you read that right.

According the Mulsim traditions practiced in Yemen, women aren't allowed in their own weddings. Only the men attend the mass celebration. The women have a private celebration of their own. The couples only get to see each other at night.

Just recently, the Orphan Foundation charity hosted a Yemen mass wedding ceremony for 4,000 couple in the country's capital Sana'a. The event is meant for those orphaned and poor individuals who can not afford a ceremony.

Apparently, weddings are an expensive affair in Yemen wherein bachelors have to shell out big bucks to their fiancée's family. “The groom and his father split the cost of a dowry to the bride's father, normally around £3,000, and the family of the groom is also expected to pay for the wedding expenses.”

Worth a whopping £5million, this years mass wedding ceremony, sponsored by Qatar's former Emir, Sheik Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, is expected to enter the Guinness Book of World Records as one of the largest communal weddings in the world.
