Did you know that not only us humans, but even insects involve in same-sex matings? But then, while we humans indulge in it for pure pleasure or same-sex attraction for that matter, the bugs reveal an altogether “confusing” explanation altogether for their choice of same-sex partners.

Researchers claim that insect's aren't gay, rather they are just so enthusiastic when mating that they never stop to check the sex of their partners before copulating. Hence, the accusation!

A recent study revealed that there are no clear benefits for certain species of insects to have same-sex relationships and “concluded they may be duped into thinking another is a female, either because of how similar they look or by scents they have picked up.”

Seems the insects, in throes of passion or rush to reproduce, mistakenly end up with the wrong partners at times. It's just a matter of confused chemistry, we conclude.
