This festival season, ATMs are likely to run dry, blame it on staff crunch in private security agencies that offer logistics services to the banks.
Industry estimates reveal that the number of security guard in banks and other cash handling agencies have plummeted to a great extent, thereby slowing down logistics operations. And the fact that most of the guards will be on leave during the festival days ahead will just add on to the woe of these firms.

Formerly, ATMs were loaded with cash every second day. The frequency has now been delayed by every fifth day.
The public sector banks, however, are working to employ adequate measures to fuel extra cash into ATMs, considering the additional demand during the festive months.
