Former TTD Trust Board Chairman DK Adikesavulu Naidu is reportedly planning to re-join the TDP, his parent party.
Speculation over his joining the TDP has grained ground after he met one-to-one with the party chief Mr Chandrababu Naidu at a marriage function in Kuppam recently. What transpired in the meeting between the two is not known but reports indicated he discussed with Naidu the possibilities of his re-entry into the TDP.
Adikesavulu Naidu once represented Chittor seat in Lok Sabha from the TDP. But he supported the UPA Government during the debate on the no-confidence motion in Parliament on the issue of nuclear deal while the party has officially opposed the nuclear deal and supported the Left parties.
Adikesavulu Naidu was appointed as the TTD Trust Board chairman after the 2009 assembly elections following the Government’s decision to reserve the Chittor seat for SCs. However, his son Srinivasulu contested the Rajampet seat as PRP candidate but lost the election.
Reports said he is again aiming to get elected to the Parliament by contesting the forthcoming biennial elections to the Rajya Sabha and sought an assurance from the TDP chief that he would be given party ticket in case he joins the party. However, Chandrababu’s reaction to his request is not known. (J)
