Tollywood's most-awaited flick of the year so far, “Manam” hit the big screens yesterday.

Starring three generations of the Akkineni family —  Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya in the leads, the film seems to be taking the Box Office by a storm within a day of its big release.

Directed by Vikram Kumar, the comedy drama film has not only raked in earth-shattering response in Andhra Pradesh, but also across the country and overseas on its opening day.

The last movie of Akkineni Nageswara Rao, who died of cancer on January 22, the film has become the biggest opener for Nagarjuna at the USA Box Office.

Bollywood trade expert Taran Adarsh tweeted, "Telugu film #Manam takes a PHENOMENAL start in USA. Thu previews: $ 91,484 [Rs 53.45 lacs] on 69 screens. Many screens yet to report."

Having got a good word of mouth review and whopping advance ticket booking, “Manam” hit nearly 700 screens in Andhra Pradesh and other parts of India on Friday. It posted an average of 95% occupancy in both single screens and multiplexes in the morning and matinee shows on Day 1.

The business soared during the evening and night shows. It amassed Rs 2.50 crores nett from around 7 screens at the Indian Box Office on the first day.

Trade experts are predicting that the movie would become the biggest opener for Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya. Te audience are thrilled by the movie and can't stop going gaga over it.
