It's a historical day! Nokia today released it's first Android smartphone, the Nokia X. Priced Rs 8,599, the phone seems to be totally worth a steal.

Feted for its best after-sales service and longevity, Nokia phones were a rage in the country, even before the Samsungs and iPhones swallowed its business, blame it on Android. To match up to the competition and revive its sinking business, Microsoft bought Nokia, and here we have the mobile phone maker releasing three mid-tier devices — Nokia X, Nokia X+ and Nokia XL with modified Android OS. The Nokia X+ and Nokia XL is slated for India release in the second quarter.

If you nned a low-priced Android with great after-sales service, Nokia X is the phone to go for. Nokia's new device might not boast of the highest spec’d camera like other devices in the same price range as Micromax, Lava or Karbonn, but it promises impeccable after-sales service and customer support, which is important for low-budget smartphones.

What more, the new Nokia X is said to offer up to 10.5 hours of talk time on a 3G connection and up to 22 days in standby time. Running on a forked version of Android, which means users won't have access to the Google Play Store, the phone doesn't provide any snazzy feature. It comes with an aging dual-core processor, 512 MB RAM and only 4 GB storage.
