Apple ties up with Samsung as the world's biggest Smartphone vendor in the fourth quarter of 2014, market researcher Strategy Analytics said Thursday

Apple backed up a record net profit of $18 billion (roughly Rs. 1,10,666 crores) in the quarter,on Tech Titan California reported that the increase was because of “staggering" i phone reviews and photos especially in China.

Apple shipped 74.5 million handsets in the fourth quarter; it was to 51 million a year ago, Strategy Analytics said.

The Samsung even reported the same number of shipments, which it got downturn from 86 million last year.

Even the share market of the Samsung was down from 30 percent were it went down to 19.6 percent, on a par with Apple.

Samsung entered the market by beating the pioneer in the market APPLE, has removed the US firm as the world's top Smartphone vendor in the third quarter of 2011.

Samsung loosing the market grip from a resurgent Apple to the entry of the chinless firms like Xiaomi.

"Samsung continues to face intense competition from Apple at the higher-end of the smartphone market, from Huawei in the middle tiers and from Xiaomi and others at the entry-level," Strategy Analytics said in a statement.
