It seems, Thursday has given smiles, at last with the victory of Saina Nehwal at the end. She has secured victory over Sun Yu of China in their second round match.
The World No.1 player just managed to get first set 21-19, but she lost the second game by the same margin (19-21). However, the second seeded Hyderabadi player dominated third with 21-13 to reach the last eight. The 78 minute game show dwindled in first two games as the Chinese player troubled Indian star.

However, the Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa pair suffered defeat in two straight games 14-21, 10-21 in the hands of Nitya Krishinda Maheswari and Greysia Polii of Indonesia.
