More medals for India! After Vikas Gowda made the country proud by winning the first ever gold in discus throw in 56 years, women discus thrower Seema Punia added to the medal count by bagging a silver in the same.

But the good run doesn't stop there! Boxer Pinki Jangra brought home a bronze, while pugilists and paddlers assured the nation of at least three more silver medals on day eight of competition at the Commonwealth Games here Friday.

With this, India stood fifth on the leaderboard with 49 medals including 13 gold, 21 silver and 15 bronze pieces.

The first four slots are occupied by England, Australia, Canada and hosts Scotland. The CWG 2014 games would draw to a close on Sunday.
