Troubled times ahead for BCCI honcho N Srinivas and his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan.

The Justice Mudgal committee report has claimed that all allegations of betting and leaking confidential information against Gurunath Meiyappan stand proved.

The report by the Supreme Court appointed panel also affirms that despite N Srinivasan's claim that Meiyappan is merely a cricket enthusiast and nothing else, he is, in truth, the face of the Chennai Super Kings team.

The panels report also raises serious question the conflict of interest in the BCCI chief being the owner of the IPL team.

The Justice Mudgal report also demanded a further probe against Raj Kundra, owner of the Rajasthan Royals team. Kundra, who admitted to having indulged in illegal betting, was never arrested by the Delhi Police or the Mumbai Police, while Meiyappan was detained by the Mumbai Police for his alleged involvement in a betting racket in the IPL.

The Supreme Court will examine the report on 7 March.

The investigation panel was formed after Aditya Verma, the secretary of the Cricket Association of Bihar, contested against the BCCI's original report that cleared Meiyappan and Kundra of all the allegations.

On investigating, the Bombay High Court discovered that the probe panel was "illegal". Furthermore, it questioned the logic of the report finding everyone innocent despite not even speaking to the police.

The BCCI appealed the decision to the Supreme Court, which appointed the three-member committee headed by former High Court judge Mukul Mudgal in October 2011.
