It's that time of the year again when cricket's two most hostile nations - Australia and England - face off at the Ashes! And just like every time, there is no love lost between the two teams who are leaving no swear word on the book to sledge each other at the ground.

However, Team Australia seems to have taken their age-old rivalry a bit too far this time by subjecting England's pacer Monty Panesar to a racist jibe on Twitter on the first day of second test at Adelaide that seems to have drawn a flak worldwide.

The official account of Australia's governing body showed four Sikh men wearing Teletubbies outfits with the message: 'Will the real Monty Panesar please stand up.'

None of the men are Panesar and it seems to suggest that one of them could be the England spinner.

The tweet was deleted and Cricket Australia later posted 'We apologize for any offense caused by our earlier tweet. That was certainly not the intention. It has been removed.'

This incident, however, incited outrage on Twitter, with TV host Piers Morgan tweeting: 'Will someone please get fired for this'. Former England midfielder Peter Reid called it a 'disgrace'.

Yorkshire bowler Jack Brooks posted: 'Who's the gimp from @CricketAus tweeting terrible gags? Fetch your P45 youth. #SackedInTheMorning' and his county captain Andrew Gale tweeted: 'Terrible. Sacked in the morning!!'

The timing for such gags is especially importune after stadium announcer at Alice Springs was fired last week for supposedly mocking the 31-year-old.

David Nixon was axed after he announced Panesar's arrival at the crease in a mock-Indian accent that was deemed as a racist slur.

The slow left-armer is returning to England team for the crucial game in Adelaide, which the tourists need to win to stay into the series.
