Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir won the toss and opted for batting against Deccan Chargers in their second encounter in the ongoing Indian Premier League season 4 campaign at Eden Gardens today.

After losing their opening encounter to the Chennai Super Kings on Friday, Gambhir is expected to make an all out effort to win the match.

Gambhir brought in Ryan Doeschate for Laxmi Shukla and Jaidev Unadkat for leg-spinner Sarabjit Ladda. With his inclusion, Netherlands’ World Cup star Doeschate has made his IPL debut.

Deccan Chargers, led by Kumar Sangakkara, also lost their opening encounter to the Rajasthan Royals and both the teams are determined for posting their first victory today at the Eden.

For Knight Riders, this is the first match on their home ground minus Sourav Ganguly whose name was identified with the team in the first three seasons of the IPL.
