Skip artificial sweeteners: Avoid flavored water, diet, low-carbs and sugar-free foods. These foods contain artificial sweeteners that are hard to digest. Bacteria in the large intestine tend to ferment them, causing gas and bloating. Avoid ingredients like sorbitol, mannitol, xylitol and lacitol.
