Most women ignore the bath salts display rack due to its price tag or due to the perception that it belongs to a spa. Now you can make your own bath salt at home by collecting the ingredients and putting them together. Follow these steps to make your own bath salt.
Basic ingredients
For making bath salt at home you will need sea salt, epsom salt and an essential oil. Besides you can add dried plants to enhance the look and fragrance of the bath salt.
Essential oil
The essential oil in the bath salt creates a relaxed atmosphere when you use this luxury product. Depending on your preference you can choose between floral, fruity, or woody scents.
Dried plants
For added fragrance and looks add dried flowers or herbs. Go for dried rose or lavender petals. Keep them whole or grind them before adding to the salt. You can also try adding rosemary, thyme or peppermint leaves that have been coarsely ground.
Right mix of ingredients
The right mix for your bath salt is one cup of sea salt, one cup of epsom salt and one teaspoon of an essential oil. First throw in the salts and mix well. Then add the essential oil and mix again. Make sure that the oil comes in contact with all the salts. Finally you can add the dried plants to your bath salt.
Storage and usage
Store your bath salts in airtight container made of glass or metal.
Take a few tablespoons of your bathsalt and sprinkle into warm bath water. Wait for some time to let the salt dissolve in water before bathing. Your personal spa is ready!
