Summer months are great time to show off your lovely cool dresses or a garden party. At the same time the sweltering heat leaves you clueless about the right hairstyle for summer evenings. The sultry weather makes your hair unmanageable and the harder you try the more difficult it gets. Here are a few stunning hairstyles that ups your style quotient.

Plaited topknot

The plaited topknot is a very modern hairstyle and can be easily achieved at home or while traveling. This hairdo is stylish and practical as well.

For this hairstyle make a French braid from the bottom (nape) and work upwards. Stop the braid  just below the crown. Then tie the braid and remaining hair into a ponytail at the crown. After this make a braid of the ponytail. Once you are done with the braid, twist it into a topknot and secure it with bobby pins. You can use a mild holding spray to set the hair.

Horizontal waves

Horizontal waves look great on women with a rock ’n roll kind of vibe. Team it up with a summer dress or a semi-formal look.

This hairstyle is easy to achieve. You need to use a bid curling tong all over the hair. Then use a  small curling tong and take sections of your hair randomly and curl them. Last step involves use of an iron to curl sections of your hair. Now you have curls of different sizes and textures, giving hair a bulky look. To get  super-voluminous locks, flip your tresses over and ruffle it at the roots. You will need a strong holding spray to keep your curls intact.

Sleek ponytail

This sleek hairstyle is apt for any formal occasion. The glossy look comes from a hair product, but take care that it doesn't look greasy or oily.

Firstly, apply the hair product and comb your tresses with a fine-toothed comb. Make a deep side-parting, above the brow arch as it creates a balance on your face. Make a low ponytail neatly using an elastic. Then divide your hair in the ponytail into sections and iron them with a straightening iron. When you are done take a small section of hair and wrap it at the base of the ponytail. This will hide the elastic. Give a final touch with a shine gel and spray.

Braided updo

Stylish and flirty, this hairdo looks gorgeous and not a bit overdone. This hairstyle makes you look  feminine and can work in any season. Women with medium-length hair are best suited for this style.

Start with a centre-parting that runs from top to bottom. Your hair is now divided into two sections. Now make a regular braid on both sides, and bring them to the crown. Next you need to secure the first braid using bobby pins. Then overlap the other braid and secure it similarly with bobby pins. The ends of the braids should be hidden under each other, behind your ear. A mild holding spray will keep your hair set in place.
