Summer months are here and it requires some care to maintain your radiant skin. Besides applying sunscreen and drinking lots of water, you need to adopt practices like not smoking and eating healthy food. Here are a few beauty tips for the summer months for a glowing skin.

Sun protection

The strong rays of the summer months causes skin damage and also leads to pre-mature aging of your skin. Constant exposure to the sun's UV rays can cause irreparable damage. Skin pigmentation and collagen damages results from prolonged exposure to UV light. In extreme cases, it can also cause skin cancers. So avoid the sun at its peak time (between 10 AM to 4 PM) and if you have to go out apply sunscreen, wear a hat and sunglasses before you go out.

Smoking

Besides causing harm to your lungs, smoking leads to premature aging of your skin. When you smoke it causes the blood vessels to thin out, making lesser oxygen available to your skin. Oxygen is vital for renewal and regeneration of skin cells. Prolonged smoking will give you dull skin and also cause fag lines around your mouth. Every reason to kick the butt.

Healthy food

Eating healthy food is very important to maintain radiant skin. It becomes all the more important to eat healthy because the skin is exposed to UV rays and heat. This causes damage to skin and other organs of your body. Eating bright coloured fruits and vegetables, rich in anti-oxidants, will help your body to overcome the oxidative damage caused by the sun. Consuming inadequate anti-oxidants in your daily meal can cause premature aging due to cell damage.

Inadequate sleep

Sleeping at sleep is vital for skin regeneration and renewal. While you are sleeping at night, the body releases growth hormone that aids skin to heal itself. A good night's sleep gives a healthy glow to your skin. That is why, night sleep is aptly termed as "beauty sleep".
