Dark circles look like a baggage on your face. They are dark blemishes around the eyes. There are a variety of reasons for dark circle - the prominent being inadequate sleep, genetics or medication. Here are a few beauty tips to prevent appearance of dark circles around your eyes.

Inadequate sleep

Most often, dark circles are caused by lack of sleep. Your body needs 7-8 hours of night sleep. If you are sleep deprieved for some time then dark circles will appear around your eyes. So ladies your beauty sleep hasn't got its name for nothing.

Sunscreen

Dark circles can also be caused due to the sun's harsh rays that causes pigmentation. Apply some sunscreen before you head out of your home. Also wear a sunglass and a hat to protect the delicate skin around your eyes from the harsh rays of the sun.

Excessive tea and coffee

Drinking too much coffee or tea can also cause dark circles. It's better to reduce intake of these beverages as they contain stimulants and are not favourable to your skin.

Multivitamins

Sometimes dark circles are caused by lack of a vital vitamins or minerals. The effect of a vitamin deficiency is visible in your skin. Eating a balanced diet daily, which is rich in proteins, fresh fruits and veggies, is important for skin as well as overall health. If you feel that some vital nutrients are getting missed in your daily diet you can pop a multivitamin after consulting your doctor.

Dark circles can also be due to genetic reason. In such case you need to consult a doctor to treat dark circles.
