Rare is the time when to good movies release on the same day and manage to impress the box-office and critics alike. "Jigarthanda" and "Sarabham" opened to great reviews and impressive Day 1 collection.

While Karthik Subbaraju's “Jigarthanda” opened at 250 screens, “Sarabham” debuted in only 150. But despite that, both the films have raked in decent business in the opening day.

However, the early trade reports say that in Chennai, the occupancy for the Siddharth's film was above 60% as compared to the other film. The official figures of the first day collections of both the Tamil flicks are yet to be out.

As both the films have garnered good response from critics and audience, the weekend should be good in terms of collections for Jigarthanda and Sarabham.

Jigarthanda, a gangster flick, starsSiddharth, Bobby Simha and Lakshmi Menon in the lead roles. Sarabham, a mystery movie, has Naveen Chandra, Salony Luthra and Aadukalam Naren in the key roles.
