The Vijayawada Eastern bypass along the Chennai-Kolkata highway has received preliminary approval following discussions between the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, and the Union Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari, in Delhi on Thursday. This bypass will allow traffic heading towards Kolkata and Chennai to bypass the city of Vijayawada, reducing congestion within the city, especially at key intersections like Ramavarapadu and Benz Circle. Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) stated that Gadkari not only approved the Vijayawada Eastern bypass but also sanctioned the construction of an Outer Ring Road (ORR) surrounding Amaravati, the new capital city, as well as a flyover from NTR Health University to Nidamanuru. However, a senior National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) official, who wished to remain anonymous, clarified that while they are aware of the meeting and the approval of the Vijayawada Eastern bypass and Amaravati ORR projects, they have not received any official communication from the NHAI headquarters regarding the sanctioning of the flyover from NTR Health University to Nidamanuru.

The Krishna district region in Andhra Pradesh will see the construction of a crucial Eastern bypass and flyover, providing much-needed relief to the residents of Vijayawada. The project, which will start from the NTR Health University and extend up to Chinakakani in Guntur district, has been approved by the central government. The office of Vijayawada's Member of Parliament, Kesineni Chinni, has confirmed that more information about these two infrastructure initiatives will be made available in the near future.
