Petrol prices cross Rs 100 per litre in the country

The prices of fuel are increasing at a rapid speed in the country. The price of petrol crossed Rs 100 mark per litre in Mumbai after the price is increased for the 15th time in the month. The price of petrol is increased by 26 paise per litre and the price of diesel got increased by 28 paise per litre today as per the state-owned fuel retailers. This is the first time the price of petrol crossed Rs 100 per litre in the country. The price of petrol is now costing Rs 100.19 per litre in Mumbai and the price of diesel is Rs 92.17 per litre.

There would be a price difference between the states due to the local taxes such as the freight charges and the VAT. Rajasthan has been levying huge taxes on the petrol and is followed by Madhya Pradesh, Maharasthra. The price of petrol in Delhi is Rs 93.94 per litre and for diesel, it is Rs 84.89 per litre. Since May 4th, the prices of petrol and diesel are increased 15 times. The price of petrol is highest in Rajasthan's Ganganagar district and it is priced at Rs 104.94 per litre and the price of diesel is Rs 97.79 per litre.
