The ongoing rumor that Apple is making a new self-driving car has been circulating over the news for the past few weeks but there is no concrete evidence that Apple Inc. is actually making the car. Apple Inc. Has not released any personal statement and denied all claims of making the car. However, sources who are a part of the engineering team have been feeding information to the media.

Among all this stir, Elon Musk has revealed quite an interesting bit of information. He took to twitter to say how he considered selling his company Tesla to Apple but then Apple CEO Tim Cook did not ever arrange a meeting.

Musk tweeted the following tweets:

The Tesla CEO did not give an exact timeline on when the meeting was scheduled. Apple plans on using a monocell design for their car battery. Elon Musk claimed that Tesla already uses this model to design their cars.

If Tesla does launch a car, then their biggest rivals and competition will Elon Musk and Tesla. In an interview in 2015, Elon Musk called Apple “Tesla’s graveyard”, claiming that if you don’t make it at Tesla, you work for Apple.

Apple hasn’t given any definite new about the launch of their car but the launch might be around 2024. Tesla on the other hand wants to produce and sell 200 million cars by 2034.
