David Cameron Offers Support to Curry Houses in Britain

British Prime Minister David Cameron has offered his support to curry houses in the UK, according to reports. Cameron was all praise for Indian food in UK this week, and called it a "Great British Industry", while speaking at the annual British Curry Awards in London.

Cameron while savoring some spicy Indian food acknowledged the role of curry industry in Britain. He also appreciated the contribution, achievement and growth of the curry industry while speaking at the event that is popularly called as the "Curry Oscars". The winners of the award were selected by a panel of judges from among 236,000 public nominations received through email, mobile and post.

The award in the central London category went to Benaras, headed by Michelin-starred Indian-born British chef Atul Kochhar. The runners up this year were curry houses from Bristol, Leicester and Kent. Mohammed Aslam of the Aagrah Group of restaurants was awarded the "Special Recognition Award" this year.
