Actor Richa Chadha has been appointed as one of the members of the advisory board of India for the Women in Film and Television Association (WIFT).
The Women in Film and Television Association (WIFT) is a global support platform for women in the film as well as TV industry and it works towards the equality in gender in the industry.
Currently, a rise in the number of women- centric films and also the colossal growth has been observed in the number of women donning the hat of a director. The Women in Film and Television in India is said to have been associated with the global organization of the Women in Film and Television Association which is said to be based in Washington DC in the United States of America.
According to the reports, it can also be said that there exists over 55 chapters of the association across the globe which are affiliated to the Global WIFT Organization in the United States.
The association is said to take cognizance of the women who have made a remarkable change in the industry. Many prominent members apart from Richa Chadha are said to be included in the Women in Film and Television Association of India, such as Sonam Kapoor and also Deepa Mehta who is the member of the Women in Film and Television Association of Toronto.
The Women in Film and Television Association in India is said to be an open platform which extends its support to the women in the film industry as well as television industry.
The actor Richa Chadha who has been appointed as one of the members of the advisory board of India for the Women in Film and Television Association (WIFT) has taken an oath of supporting the women in the industry and hyas also pledged to support the women with big dreams and to also help them in the industry.
Richa Chadha has also said that she wants to increase the number of women working in both the film industry as well as the TV industry.
The actor has said in a recent interview that she is not someone who has stepped into the industry with a background from the film industry and therefore her journey has not been easy. She has also added saying that the industry is much more safe and organized to work when compared to the condition it was before in and that much more ought to be done to the industry.
She has added saying that she wants to cleanse the thoughts of people who have an impression that the industry is not safe for women to work and that she wants to bring change in the society and she has also emphasized that it is necessary to create an environment as gender neutral which would also help in the progress of the society.
