A very fortunate woman Ashley Spencer, who was suffering from rare autoimmune disease called Churg-Strauss syndrome has experienced a incident when she was on flight to Cleveland, for a visit to renowned Cleveland Clinic, the place where she had a hope of finding answer for her struggling health issues, with asthmatic symptoms of rare disease. On boarding a flight Spencer collapsed outside a airplane bathroom.

The disease faced by Spencer is known as eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis, a disorder that causes inflammation with in the blood vessels, resulting in slow down of blood flow to important organs, as per the information given by doctors of mayo clinic.

On Saturday, 28 year old Spencer headed to Philadelphia International Airport, and was ready to board flight to land in Cleveland for tests and other consultations.

She had some chips as snack and then got in to the plane.

As she is effected with the syndrome, she is undertaking treatment for respective symptoms and Spencer cloud not comment on the incident on Monday, but as per the information given by spokeswoman of clinic, the condition of Spencer has become more sensitive to allergies , the cause of it suspected as consumption chip snack might be dipped in peanut oil , she consumed during the boarding of flight at airport.

Although, it’s not yet certain whether her collapse was related to her condition, Spencer experienced anaphylactic shock, which is termed to life threatening allergic reaction.

She told to media that “I stopped breathing”. She reportedly said that, “I still had a pulse. That's when the stewardess said, “Is there any medical professionals on the aircraft? It's an emergency.”

Surprisingly, a doctor from Cleveland Clinic Erich Kiehl, a popular electrophysiology specialist, was also on board of American Eagle flight 5471.

He along with another Physician from Duke University administered an EpiPen and albuterol, then had a detailed inspection on Vital parts of Spencer’s body, until she started to stabilize back, according to the clinic spokeswomen Andrea told to the media.
