TV actor Pratyusha Banerjee’s mother, Soma Banerjee, claimed that a day before her death, balikavadhu actress called one of her aunts and said that she was tired of life and did not want to go ahead. The 49 year old Jamshedpurresident, Soma recorded her statement at the Bangur Nagar police station.

She made many allegations against Rahul Raj Singh, Pratyusha’s boyfriend. Rahul has been booked for abetment. Soma alleged that Rahul abused her daughter physically and mentally, suspected of cheating him, harassed her, questioned about her former boyfriend and other male friends. The statement that is a part of FIR said that distressed Pratyusha called her aunt on 31 march after being abused and beaten by Rahul. Her mother said that her daughter made similar appeals to her uncle and aunt in January,February and March 2016.

“Rahul was suspicious of her friendship with other men and her ties with an ex boyfriend. He also threatened to destroy her family if she told us about the abuse,” Soma said.

“Pratyusha said that she could not tolerate living any more,” the statement reads.

“He thought I was doing black magic to sabotage their marriage. After a point my husband and I became fed up of living with Singh and in January, we went back to Jamshedpur,” she has said in her statement.

Soma told the police that she gave Rs 2 lakh,in August 2015, to one of Singh’s friend to celebrate Pratyusha’s birthday. Sometime later, Singh proposed marriage to Pratyusha for which she accepted.
