Gugu Mbatha-Raw is all set to appear opposite Will Smith in the upcoming NFL concussion movie. The untitled movie will be based on an article titled "Game Brain" by Jeanne Marie Laskas that appeared in the GQ magazine.

Ridley Scott, Giannina Facio and Michael Schaefer are producing along with David Wolthoff, Elizabeth Cantillon and Larry Shuman.

The Sony project is a whistleblower tale. The movie follows a doctor (played by Will Smith) who discovers that NFL players suffer major head injuries and life-long debilitating problems due to repeated concussions.

Peter Landesman will direct the project, which he has also scripted.

Recently Mbatha-Raw won strong reviews for her role in' Beyond the Lights' at the Toronto Film Festival. She played a music superstar in the film, which was recently premiered at the festival.

Mbatha-Raw's upcoming films include 'The Whole Truth', co-starring Keanu Reeves. She is also credited for films like 'Odd Thomas' and 'Larry Crowne'.
