Actor Adam Scott has joined the cast of 'Black Mass'. The Whitey Bulger crime drama is being produced by Warner Bros. and Cross Creek Pictures.

The movie stars Johnny Depp in the role of a South Boston criminal mastermind. Depp's character in the movie has been sentenced in November to two consecutive life terms and another five years in jail on 31 counts of money laundering, extortion, racketeering and weapons charges (that includes his involvement in 19 murders).  

Scott will play the character of an FBI agent named Robert Fitzpatrick.

The cast also includes Joel Edgerton as FBI agent John Connolly, and Benedict Cumberbatch is likely to play the role of Whitey's brother Bill.

Scott Cooper will helm the project on the crime boss Whitey Bulger.

Currently the film is being shot in Boston.
