The love for ice cream never fades away as it excites us with different types of varieties that can be made using the ice cream. Eating just scoops of ice cream can be relishing but trying it in different recipes would boggle up your mind just like the one being mentioned. Fried ice cream, a recipe which is served hot and while eating it you would get to witness the cold ice cream inside and enjoy every bit of it being hot and crunchy from the outside and cold and soft from the inside.
Ingredients to prepare Fried Ice cream
- 1 quart vanilla ice cream
- Three cups of crushed cornflakes
- One tea spoon of ground cinnamon
- Three egg whites
- Two quarts oil used for frying
Directions for preparing Fried Ice cream:
Take the ice cream and scoop it in to 8- 1 and half cup sized balls and place them on a baking sheet.
The scoops of ice cream can also be placed in a plastic wrap and squeeze them until tight. Freeze these balls until firm for about one hour
Take a shallow dish and add the crushed cornflakes and the ground cinnamon. Take another dish and beat the egg whites until they turn foamy.
Take the frozen balls of ice cream and dip them in egg whites and then roll them in the mixture of cornflakes and cinnamon
Make sure that the balls of ice cream are covered up on all the sides and this can be repeated if necessary.
Freeze the ice cream balls that are covered with the mixture until they turn firm which would take around three hours.
Consider a deep fryer or a pan and heat the oil up to 375 degrees Fahrenheit which when converted would be 190 degrees Celsius.
Add the frozen balls of ice cream into the heated oil and fry the balls using a basket or a slotted spoon for about 10 to 15 seconds or until golden brown. Be cautious and it is advisable to fry only one or two balls at once.
Once fried, drain them quickly on paper towels and serve them immediately.
