Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Bombay Velvet' released date has been postponed again. Now the film will probably release next year in May.

Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet was initially scheduled for Christmas release. But that meant a box office clash with Aamir Khan's 'P.K'. So it was postponed to November 2.

However, due to production related delays, the film's release was postponed again. Reports suggest the filmmakers have plans to release 'Bombay Velvet' in May 2015.

Director Anurag Kashyap admitted at an interview that the project has some unfinished work in VFX, where only 25 % work has been done.

The period drama will see Ranbir Kapoor in the role of a boxer, who goes on to becomes owner of a jazz club by the name Bombay Velvet.

Set on the background of old Bombay, the makers are attempting to bring back the city to life. While trying to lend authenticity to the film, such delays are understandable. Reports also suggest that Ranbir was not very happy with certain shots and wants them to be filmed again.

Ranbir said that the film was made by Anurag with lot of love and hard work. The film had been a dream for Anurag for nine years, he added.

The film 'Bombay Velvet' is the first in a trilogy, which will tell the story of Bombay and how it became a metropolitan city. The movie is based on the book 'Mumbai Fables' by Historian Gyan Prakash.

'Bombay Velvet' stars actors Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in lead roles.
