Ranbir Kapoor might end up in jail, if the biopic planned on the shamed star Sanjay Dutt takes off, if only in reels.

A biopic on the life and troubled times of broken superstar Sanjay Dutt is under discussion. And if all goes well, then the blue-print might soon translate itself into celluloid.

Buzz is that maverick director Rajkumar Hirani is being considered to call the shots. For all who didn't know, Hirani is a close aide of Dutt and has formerly directed him in 'Munnabhai M.B.B.S' and 'Lage Raho Munnabhai'.

Given that the camaraderie between Hirani and Dutt is one of the thickest in tinsel town, both Sanjay and Manyata are keen on Hirani directing the biopic.

Meanwhile, we hear that another Sanju baba's close pal, Ranbir Kapoor is being considered for essaying the complex role of the real-life actor and broken hero, on reels.

Sanjay Dutt is currently serving his jail term in the Yerawada prison for illegal possession of arms.
