Air India has been fined Rs 1.10 crore by the DGCA for violating safety regulations. The penalty was imposed after an Air India employee submitted a safety report alleging that the airline had breached safety protocols on certain long-distance routes that are considered high-risk. The DGCA conducted a thorough investigation into these allegations and found evidence of non-compliance by the airline.

As a result, a Show Cause Notice was issued to the Accountable Manager of Air India Limited. The airline's response to the notice was carefully examined to ensure compliance with relevant laws and the performance standards set by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Since the leased aircraft's operations were found to be outside of regulatory and OEM performance limits, the DGCA has taken enforcement action and imposed a penalty of Rs 1.10 crore on Air India.
