By 2024, the UK is going to change their visa policy for US citizens. US citizens will first need permission, which will be like an online travel pass. This permission will allow you to stay in 30 countries of Europe for up to 90 days within 6 months. The visa permission is going to be $ 7.79 for every US Citizen.

Along with the USA travellers, other nations, Europe, Australia and Canada will also need to seek permission to enter the UK under the new scheme known as Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). The UK is planning to close all ease of visitors by the end of 2025. Each and every visitor needs to enter the country only with permission under the ETA scheme.

To enter the UK, prior permission is needed according to the ETA passed in 2023. If there is no permission, then the traveller will be charged a fine. ETA is currently taking less than 72 hours after the application is submitted. Once the ETA is approved for the specified purpose, a person will be allowed to stay within six months, whether it's for business or tourism reasons.
