Go First Airlines has apologized to its passengers for cancelling their operations until the 12th of May. Refunds will be issued to the original mode of payment, Directorate General of Civil Aviation(DGCA) has ordered the airlines for timely refunds. The Wadia group is not taking any bookings till the 15th of May. Earlier Flights were cancelled for May 3,4 and 5th as they have not cleared the pending dues for oil marketing companies. The increase in engine failures supplied by Pratt & Whitney’s International Aero Engines has troubled the company, which is around 25 aircraft were landed and the Airline has gone through financial stress.

As per Go First, their supplier of engines for A320neos had failed to meet obligations and refused an arbitration award from Singapore International Arbitration Centre. This might lead to more engine failures in the coming three-four month.

The airline was looking for a strategic investor. They were running on a cash-and-carry mode, which means they had to pay daily for the flights that are in operation. Go First have a total of 61 aircraft, according to their website. Because of the pandemic, there is a huge loss of passenger revenue. Go First has reported a net loss of $218 million in the Financial year 2022. This is twice bigger than the previous year's loss.
