Noida's Supertech Twin Towers Demolished

The Supertech Twin Towers in Noida which are said to be taller than Qutub Minar have been demolished on Sunday at 2:30 PM. The residents approached the court nine years ago about the violation of norms. An explosive of 3700 kg was used to demolish the twin towers. The Supreme Court ordered the demolition because of the violation of norms in the Emerald Court Society. The company demolished the towers with their own expense. The initial plan was to build 14 towers with nine floors each but the plan got revised. The new plan had two towers with 40 floors each. The area allocated for the garden was used and two towers were constructed.

The residents of Supertech Emerald Court society approached the Allahabad High Court in 2012 and they stated that the construction was not legal. The society built more flats to make more profits. The court ordered to demolish the towers in four months. The case then reached the Supreme Court in August 2021. The top court too ordered demolition and the process got delayed due to technical hurdles. Ceyane and Apex are the names of the towers and they are located in Sector 93A in Noida.

A lot of debris has been fallen into the balconies of the nearby residential colonies and apartments. The society asked the residents to return back to their homes. It took 12 seconds for the towers to get demolished. Ten metres boundary wall of a nearby society got demolished. The debris is slowly removed by the authorities.
