Omicron Variant Responsible for 73 Percent of New Cases

The new variant of coronavirus named Omicron is making the entire globe sleepless. The variant is now present in most of the countries and is spreading at a faster pace. As per the reports, the variant is the reason for 73 percent of the new infections that are reported last week. Close to eight countries of the globe have been added to the list of high-risk countries by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The travelers from these countries to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. CDC also asked the people to avoid traveling to Spain and other countries include Finland, Chad, Lebanon, Bonaire, Gibraltar, Monaco and San Marino..

The new cases of coronavirus in USA reached all-time high in the country. The people are asked to wear a face mask and follow six feet distance when they are in the public. The statement of CDC told "If you must travel to Spain, make sure you are fully vaccinated before travel. Because of the current situation in Spain, even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading Covid-19 variants". The Federal Health Officials told that 73 percent of the new infections are due to the Omicron variant. Till November, more than 99.5 percent of the cornavirus cases were due to Delta.

Omicron was first traced in South Africa and it is now present in most of the countries. The World Health Organization (WHO) called it a variant of concern as the rate of transmission is high.
