Indian Origin Texas Students Drown at Turner Falls

Two Indian origin students from the University of Texas drowned Turner Falls, one of the famous tourist destinations in Oklahoma.

According to police, the foreign exchange students died on September 3 at Turner Falls, near Davis, South Oklahoma City. One of the three students allegedly was struggling in a pool in the falls and then immediately the other jumped in to help. In the end, both of them failed to resurface.  

The two students have been identified as a 23-year-old Ajay Kumar Koyalamudi and 22-year-old Teja Koushik Voleti.

Hailing from India, both the youngsters were studying at the University of Texas in Arlington. As per police information, the boys did not have life jackets on at the time of the incident.

Davis hired no lifeguards for the popular swimming hole this year.

The duo’s friends also started a fundraiser for the expenses to send the bodies to India, pay off education loans. The fundraiser is requesting people to support the families in the hardest time.
