Indian students who want to study abroad may soon have to register with the government first.

Ministry of External of Affair’s proposal is a part of the draft Emigration Bill 2019.

Ministry is working on the bill and taking feedback from the public after completion of the process it may introduce in the Parliament.

According to the report in the Times of India, the bills says, “The bill makes mandatory registration/intimation of all categories of Indian nationals proceeding for overseas employment as well as students pursuing higher studies abroad. Registration/intimation is proposed to be technology/digital platform driven so as to keep emigration a swift, efficient and hassle-free process without causing any inconvenience to our workforce and students pursuing higher studies abroad.”

Registration process will not be a lengthy process it is meant to be in the interest of Indian nationals.

On the similar line earlier this year government introduced the mandatory registration for Indians who wants to work in 18 countries i.e UAE, Bahrain, Afghanistan, Iraq, Indonesia, Jordan, Lebanon, Kuwait, Libya, Malaysia, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, South Sudan, Yemen, Thailand and Syria.
