Dubai-based NRI Arrested for Threatening to Kill Kerala Chief Minister

Non-Resident Indian Krishna Kumar Nair, who threatened to kill Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was arrested from Delhi airport and was handed to the Kerala police.

On June 5, Nair had threatened to kill Kerala CM on Facebook live subsequently he was fired from his job in Abu Dhabi and apologized for his words saying that he was intoxicated while he sent threatening messages. He said he is ready to face the law.

From Delhi, he will be brought to Kochi by afternoon.

In the live video, Nair was heard boasting in Malayalam that he is a die-hard admirer of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He said he will quit the job and come to the state soon to "impose justice".  

He said he will dust off his old weapons to eliminate the chief minister. He also made a rape threat against the CM’s relatives. "I am least bothered how my life is going to end. If we decide to kill a person then we need to finish the job," he was heard saying.

Even though he deleted the video on Wednesday, merely by then the video was viral. On Wednesday afternoon, he posted another video of apologizing for his conduct.

"I have lost my job. I am ready to face any action but I will remain a supporter of RSS. I seek an apology from Pinarayi Vijayan and others for my outbursts," he said in his second post.

Against cybercrimes, United Arab Emirates has rigorous laws with various penalties, including prison terms and fines of up to Dh3 million.
