Hurricane Irma has left a path of destruction across the Caribbean and through the south east U.S over the weekend. The death toll has increased to 22, power was restored to over 2 million people in Florida.

Monroe County announced Tuesday night that all 42 bridges in the county are inspected and are “deemed safe for vehicles”. By late Tuesday Florida Power& Light Co had restored power to its 2.3 million customers about 4.4 millions were suffering without power throughout the state as of Tuesday afternoon.

After days of destruction, Irma the first Category 4 landfall in Florida since 2004 has dissipated, evacuated Floridians are facing heavy traffic to return home and face monumental clean ups all over the state.

President Trump has announced that he is set to travel to Florida on Thursday. Florida Keys were cutoff of from Mainland for days after Irma. Florida Gov. Rick Scott said that this Storm has left devastation on the keys, They were under major evacuation orders during Irma. At least one person died in Keys.

Officials opened entry into upper keys for residents in Key Largo, Tavernier and Islamorada, up to mile marker 73 allowing the residents to get home and see damage themselves. But power, water, Sewer, medical services are still limited said Monroe County officials and meanwhile Shelters and distributions centers for food and water will still be opened.

Cleanup’s are still underway on Miami Beaches Iconic Ocean Drive, which was covered in sand from storm surge and wind. The area is filled with downed trees and street signs, but appeared to escape without major structural damage. Some of the businesses are still preparing for reopen now.
