UP CM Akhilesh Yadav expelled from party by father Mulayam Singh!

In a surprise move, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav expelled the young chief minister from the party, Akhilesh Yadav from the party. The SP head dropped the bombshell just ahead of crucial elections in Uttar Pradesh.

He has also expelled his cousin and senior party leader Ram Gopal Yadav for the second time in months, accused him of "spoiling the career of the chief minister"

Following the move Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav called a meeting of party lawmakers and supporters at his 5 Kalidas Marg residence in Lucknow.

The Samajwadi Party chief said in a statement that, both Akhilesh and Ram Gopal have been sacked for weakening the party.

"I made Akhilesh Chief Minister and now he does not even consult me," said the father as he announced the son's expulsion, adding that he was sacking the son to "save the party".

Mulayam said at a press conference, that, “Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav doesn’t understand. Ramgopal is trying to weaken him.”  “To save the party, we have expelled both Ramgopal and Akhilesh Yadav for six years.”

“Netaji doesn’t know the party’s constitution that well. This is unconstitutional as both of us were expelled within two hours (after the notices were served) without letting us reply,” Ramgopal hit out.

Mulayam Singh formed the party in 1992, remained defiant too and almost ruled out any reconciliation.
