Disobeying ceasefire again, Pakistan opened unprovoked firing that targeted several Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) forward posts. This is yet another ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops tonight. The firing that prompted the Indian army to retaliate, targeted several forward posts in Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Defence spokesman told PTI that, "Pakistani troops have been resorting to unprovoked small arms firing in forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishnagati, Mandi, Balakote and Pallanwala sectors since 2130 hours tonight.”

Krishnagati and Mandi sectors belong to Poonch, whereas Balakote and Pallanwala belong to Rajouri and Jammu respectively.

Indian army strikes back

The spokes person said that the Indian army troops guarding the LoC took positions and strike back effectively. This resulted in the exchange of firing, which was still going on when the last reports came out. However, there has been no loss of life so far.

Last night, Pakistani rangers resorted to firing of mortar bombs on boarder out-posts across the International Border in Jammu. Maintainig calm, BSF troops guarding the International borderline did not retaliate to last night's ceasefire breach.

A senior BSF officer said, "Pakistan Rangers resorted to firing of two mortar bombs on BoPs along the IB in R S Pura sector around 10.40 PM last night.”
