AirAsia India has come up with 20% discount on its tickets, allowing air travellers to fly at cheaper rates. The airlines, which happen to be the latest entrant in domestic air space, has introduced the discount on all its flights for a limited period.

On August 12, the discount scheme was launched for a six days - till August 17. It offers ait travellers 20% discount on tickets for flights from Bengaluru to Chennai, Kochi and Goa and vice versa in all segments, according to a press release by AirAsia India.

At present, AirAsia India has flights operating between Bengaluru to Chennai, Kochi and Goa. The airlines also has plans to launch flight services between Bengaluru to Jaipur and Bengaluru to Chandigarh.

Customers can book tickets till August 17 at the discounted price for travel scheduled upto December 14.

The discount offer will also be available for the proposed flights, said the release. However, the travel period for the proposed Jaipur and Chandigarh flights would be for the period of September 5 to October 25. AirAsia India's flight services for Jaipur and Chandigarh will begin from September 5.

AirAsia India is the domestic arm of Malaysian no-frills carrier AirAsia.

When AirAsia India entered the Indian aviation market they had said that the fares would be 35% cheaper than the other airlines.

AirAsia India chief executive Mittu Chandilya's statement said that the discounted tickets have been launched in appreciation of the support and response the airlines has received from the passengers. The existing everyday low fares, as promised by the airlines, is to live up to their vision of making every Indian fly, added Chandilya.

With AirAsia India announcing its discounted air fares, the other airlines are expected to follow suit. More fun for air travellers.
