Malaysia Airlines seems to be spooked. A Malaysia Airlines jet was on the verge of collision with an incoming flight. The plane was about to take-off and had to be aborted to prevent any collision.

Had the carrier's take-off not been aborted, it would habe been the third Malaysia Airlines mishap since March 2014.

Flight MH136 was rolling down the runway at Adelaide Airport on Wednesday, when it was forced to slam the brakes on learning that it was on a collision course. The jet had 167 passengers on board headed towards Kuala Lumpur.

The Adelaide ATC radioed instructions to flight MH136 to abort the takeoff, on realising the jet was on a collision course with an incoming plane.

MH136 stopped the takeoff without ant incident and waited for the required cool-down time on its brakes before taking off again from Adelaide, according to reports.

The incoming flight, a Tiger Airways Airbus A320, had been too high and too fast on approach, reports suggest. The Adelaide ATC wanted to ensure that the Malaysia Airlines 'didn't climb underneath' it.

Reports about the latest Malaysian Airlines plane comes within two weeks after another plane from the airlines, flight MH17 was shot down while flying over Ukraine in a suspected attack by Russian rebels.

The illfated plane was hit by a BUK surface-to-air missile, killing all 298 people on board, including 80 children. The rebels have been demanding independence from Ukraine.

Reports suggest the civilian aircraft had been accidentally fired by the separatist fighters, assuming it to be a military carrier.

Earlier in March 2014, another Malaysia Airlines flight, MH370, went missing while traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. The missing flight had deviated from its intended route. It's last trace on military radar was recorded towards the Bay of Bengal. Till date there is no evidence of flight MH370 or the 239 passengers and crew on board.

The search for the missing plane is still on in the Indian Ocean for its wreckage.
