AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal has emerged as the most influential person in the world, according to a readers poll conducted by the TIME magazine. The AAP founder secured the highest percentage of 'yes' votes in the list of 100 Most Influential People of the magazine.

Narendra Modi, BJP's prime ministerial candidate, was at the second position in the readers poll of 100 Most Influential People by TIME magazine. The results were declared on Wednesday after polling was closed on Tuesday.

The AAP leader scored a total of 261,114 "yes" votes from TIME readers. While BJP supremo Modi received 164,572 'Yes' votes. But Modi's "yes" votes were outnumbered by 166,260 "no" votes. The winner in the reader's vote was based on the total number of "yes" votes.

The 43-year-old Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi appeared 39th on the TIME magazine's ranking.

Others who figured in the top 10 list were singers Katy Perry and Justin Bieber, actors Laverne Cox, and Benedict Cumberbatch, singer Beyonce, actor Jared Leto, actor Lupita Nyong'o, singer Lady Gaga and music duo Daft Punk.

TIME magazine publishes a list of the 100 Most Influential People around the world every year. Readers can vote for their favorite person in an online poll run by the magazine before the issue is published. Prominent singers, actors, musicians, politicians and athletes figure in the ranking on the list.
