Sochi Olympics seems to be garnering attention for the wrong reasons from the beginning. The latest in the list of reports that have been calling attention of the entire world is the problems faced by journalist staying at the hotels.

Some journalists have claimed that the facilities in the hotel are poor. One journalist even posted a picture of yellow coloured water in glasses collected from bathroom faucets at a hotel in Sochi, Russia.

Another journalist claimed that her hotel has no water. And that the hotel front desk says if restored it should not be used on the face as it contains some dangerous chemical.

The trending topic in social media is the problems being faced by journalist, who are in Sochi to cover the 2014 Winter Olympics, in their hotels. The whole episode has been dubbed by Washington Post as the "hilarious and gross" experiences of journalists in Sochi.

However, Russian government says that the journalists are blowing things out of proportion as they are being spied in their hotel rooms. On Thursday, all claims of problems at the hotels were dismissed as baseless by the Russian officials. Even deputy prime minister Dmitry Kozak asserted with confidence that surveillance footage from the hotel rooms reflected things were fine.

Apparently, the list of problems in hotel rooms could be the "creepy government surveillance" that are unwelcome to the journlists' liking. But they should have known that privacy should not be expectation, even in their hotel rooms due to security concerns.
