Plucking Stimulates Hair Growth!

Hair loss has become a very serious problem for young age persons, especially for unmarried persons in India. The hair implantation, hair setting, and other techniques have become popular in India. There are many methods available for regenerating the lost hair.

Here we have interesting news to see, that the plucking the hair can also regenerate the hair lost. It looks very uncommon, but the researchers have found the result in their experiment on the mice.

In the research they came to know that plucking 200 hair strands in specific pattern and density, 1,200 new hairs can be re-generated in the area where we have plucked.

Scientists at the University of Southern California (USC) have demonstrated this on a mouse. "It is a good example of how basic research can lead to a work with potential translational value," said lead researcher Cheng-Ming Chuong."The work leads to potential new targets for treating alopecia, a form of hair loss," he added. The study began a couple of years ago on the premise that hair follicle injury affects its adjacent environment, and that this environment in turn can influence hair regeneration.

The results were not same in areas, especially in low density from an area exceeding 6 mm in diameter areas no hair regenerated in this method. And the results in higher-density plucking from circular areas with diameters between 3-5 mm showed the regeneration range between 450 and 1,300 hair strands, around the plucked area also they have seen the change.

The team showed that this regenerative process relies on the principle of "quorum sensing", which defines how a system responds to stimuli that affect some, but not all members. The team has shown the plucked follicles signal distress by releasing inflammatory proteins through the molecular analysis. The inflammatory proteins are capable of engaging the immune cells to rush to the site of the injury.

However, the readers should take care while plucking the hair for thick and dense hair, because there is a threat of losing complete hair if the process continued in wrong way. It is suggested to the readers to approach the cosmetologist and dermatologist for better results in hair growth.
