Netflix India has unveiled 17 new releases which includes Movies and TV shows

Netflix has unveiled new releases in the coming months. These 17 releases for India will have both movies and TV shows.

It’s true to say that the coronavirus which originally generated from China has taken over the world and businesses around the world. With more than 13.3 million people being affected, Covid-19 pandemic looks like it is here to stay for the foreseeable future. World Health Orgainsation which declared this virus a pandemic also says that it is going to get worse and worse.

With the pandemic in place India went into lockdown in the late of March and the lock down which was supposed to be there for 21 days got extended to more than 2 months. Now that places are opening up and businesses are in running, there are still some businesses and industries that have not opened up. This includes International travel, educational institutions and ofcourse the entertainment industry. The cinema halls are still shut down as they were from the 24th of March. There is no official information on when these theatres will open up and thus the movies which were supposed to release in the heaters are being postponed. When some high budget movies still want to wait for theatres to open up for big screen releases there are some movies which were supposed to release on big screen but now are opting for direct digital release. Most of these movies are not high budget movies. With several OTT platforms like Amazon prime, Hotstar, Netflix and many more film makers and producers are leaning over to the digital side for the premiers of their movies.

Netflix India just announced and unveiled the list of 17 new Indian releases in the coming months. These 17 releases have both TV shows and movies in them. Among releases, the list goes from Ishan Khatter’s web series with Tabu called A suitable Boy to Dharma Production movie by Jahnvi Kapoor called The Karil Girl. The list also has movies starring Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapur, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, and Pankaj Tripathi’s comedy drama called Ludo, Sanjay Dutt led by Torbaaz, Radhika Apte and Nawazuddin Siddique starring Raat Akeli Hai, Two talented actresses, Bhumi Pednekar and Konkana Sen Sharma in a drama movie called Dolly Kitty aur Voh Chamakte Sitare. There’s also a rom-com called Ginny weds sunny starring Vikrant Massey and Yami Gautam. One webseries other than A suitable boy is with the You tube Sensation Prajakta Koli who is also known as Mostly Sane. The title of the webs series is Mismatched which also stars Rohit Saraf who was last seen in the Sky is Pink with Priyanka Chopra.

Coming Soon titles and a little about them:

A Suitable Boy is based on Vikram Seth's 1993 novel of the same name, about passionate literature student Lata Mehra who defies tradition, and her meddling mother's wish to choose her a husband in a newly independent India in 1951.

AK vs. AK follows a brash film director who kidnaps the daughter of a movie star and films the stars desperate search for his daughter in real-time as his next blockbuster

Bombay Rose, premièred at Venice Film Festival last yearand hangs precariously between living on the streets and loving on the screen, Bollywood style.

Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl is inspired by the life of a fearless young officer who made history by becoming the first Indian female Air Force officer to fly in a combat zone during the 1999 Kargil War.

Ludo follows the journey of four different lives who meet at a crossroads.

Masaba Masaba is based on real-life moments from Masaba Gupta's life follows her unique background, the diverse worlds she straddles across fashion and family, and her foray back into the dating world.

Mismatched is based on Sandhya Menon's book “When Dimple Met Rishi”, about a mismatched couple — one searching for his happily ever after and another dreaming of being a tech wizard.

Raat Akeli Hai is a high profile murder in small-town India which sends a tough yet narrow minded cop (on a twisted investigation as he navigates deeper into the dark past and toxic patriarchy of the victim's family.
