Indian ace tennis player Sania Mirza is just one match short of winning her third Grand Slam title. Sania has entered the final of US Open mixed doubles with partner Bruno Soares. The Indo-Brazilian team defeated the Tapiei-German partnership of Yung-Jan Chan and Ross Hutchins to reach the finals.

The partnership of Sania Mirza and Bruno Soares overcame the Yung-Jan Chan and Ross Hutchins combine 7-5 4-6 10-7 in the semifinal match that lasted for one hour and 33 minutes.

Sania and Soares will play the finals against USA-Mexico pair of Abigail Spears and Santiago Gonzalez.

The US Open will be Sania Mirza's fifth appearance at a mixed doubles final at the Grand Slam level. The Indian tennis player had won the Australian Open (2009, 2012) twice with her Indian partner Mahesh Bhupathi.

The 27-year old is the only Indian left this season at the last Grand Slam. All other Indian players ( Rohan Bopanna and Leander Paes) have exited at different stages in their respective events.
