IPL7 auction saw the highest bid ever on Wednesday and Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh was lapped up for Rs. 14 crore by the Royal Challengers Bangalore. While wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik was taken up by Delhi Daredevils at 12.5 crore.

The auction for the seventh edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) saw Indian cricketers going up for record bid under the hammer. Yuvraj and Karthik got the the highest price out of the 16 marquee players during the auction's first session. Earlier Yuvraj had played for the Pune Warriors that has been disbanded now.

Former England captain Kevin Pietersen was taken up for Rs. 9 crore and India's Test opener Murali Vijay went up for Rs. 5 crore to the Daredevils.

Kolkata Knight Riders bought batsman Robin Uthappa for Rs. 5 crore. Australian batsman Glenn Maxwell was sold at Rs. 6 crore to Kings XI Punjab. Left-arm pacer Mitchell Johnson was grabbed by Kings XI Punjab for Rs. 6.5 crore. While David Warner was taken by Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rs. 5.5 crore.

Delhi Daredevils bought Nathan Coulter-Nile for Rs. 4.25 crore. New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson was lapped up by Mumbai Indians for Rs. 4.5 crore. Varun Aaron, Indian fast bowler was bought by RCB for Rs. 2 crore. Mumbai Indians also bought Michael Hussey at a bid of Rs. 5 crore.

Meanwhile, Virender Sehwag got the winning bid of Rs.3.2 crore from Kings XI Punjab, and Kolkata Knight Riders bought South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis by using their right to match card. Chennai Super Kings had bid Jacques Kallis for Rs. 5.5 crore.

Surprisingly, former Sri Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardene and former New Zealand captain Ross Taylor had no bidders. Even Brett Lee and some West Indian players remained unsold.
